Your Move Stirling was the largest behaviour change project of its kind to be delivered on such a scale in partnership with the Department of Transport and City of Stirling. The successful delivery of the project was largely due to the collaboration and shared wealth of experience between the Department and Behaviour Design Works in developing and delivering behaviour change projects. Your Move Stirling built upon successful elements of Your Move Wanneroo, including creating tailored project resources, providing vouchers and referrals to local facilities, having a strong social media presence, and delivering high quality and personalised coaching calls. DoT’s generative relationship with the City of Stirling as program partner and the support and cross promotion of many other key stakeholders were also key to the projects success.
Through developing strong relationships between individual participants and a personal coach/mentor, the project helped participants identify personal goals for change, set small steps to get started, lay out tailored ideas to stay on track and overcome resistance, and develop on-going plans to maintain new behaviours. This level of support, and a positive relationship between the coach and the participant, was essential to achieve real changes to complex behaviours.
